HIGH POWER LASER, THERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS
Laser therapy is wide spread in surgery, dermatology and opthalmology. It is also a clinically proven adjacent treatment modality in the physical therapy (PT) practice for managing pain & inflammation and for promoting tissue repair in the musculoskeletal system, skin and mucosa.
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been deployed successfullyin PT treatments for decades. From the end of the 90s, High Power Laser Therapy (HPLT) began to emerge in the basic research and later in cnlinical rehabilitation practice.
This HPLT book has the aim to give the PT a comprehensive overview of the scientific background and clinical guidelines when treating patients with the Chattanooga HPL equipment.
The first part of this book is dedicated to theoretical, technological and physiological principles. The second part provides parameter guidelines and illustrations for multiple musculoskeletal indications and can serve as a reference guide when using the "Clinical Protocol Setup (CPS)" in the Chattanooga HPL equipment.
This is the fourth book of the International Chattanooga Academy published under the umbrella of DJO Publications - it is part of the series "Clinical Guidelines in Rehabilitation".
